WOMAN REPORTS ATTEMPTED SEXUAL ASSAULT IN ARCATA

According to the Arcata Police Department:

On March 31st at about 4:00 a.m. the Arcata Police Department received a report of an attempted sexual assault. The female victim reported that she had been walking alone in the 400 block of 7th Street when an unknown male subject pushed her down and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to fight off the male subject and returned to her residence to call the police. The Arcata Police Department with the assistance of a Eureka Police Department K-9 and officers from the Humboldt State University Police Department conducted an extensive search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect.


The suspect was described as a white male adult in his thirties, six feet tall, medium build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark colored jeans.

The victim received minor injuries during the assault and was transported to the hospital where she was treated and released.
