Here's what Charlie Rangel said of the miricle man from ThinkProgress:
Rangel Blasts Perry’s Minimum Wage Jobs Record: ‘One Stage Away From Slavery’ | Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) is taking issue with the “Texas miracle” myth that Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) is selling. This morning, Rangel told reporters that Perry’s record of job creation is nothing to be proud of because the jobs pay such low wages that “it’s one stage away from slavery.” Today, a New York Times review of Perry’s track record concluded, “Texas has one of the highest percentages of workers who are paid the minimum wage and receive no medical benefits.” Perry has also presided over a steady, decade-long decline in his state’s employment to population ratio. He inherited a ratio of more than 47 percent from George W. Bush, but now only 43.5 percent of Texans have a job, compared to 44.7 percent of the total U.S. population.

  1. Here we go again. Ya know Tom, it's really getting bad. The "Well-Off" are not even bothering to hide their greedy looting of our treasury.
Many people worship the rich. I think it's sort of a "House-Slave" mentality. Like they are afraid to think for themselves, so they throw all the authority to the upper-classes and throw the rest of us, their family and friends; under a bus.
Same ol' scenario; all the "Progressives" will be supporting Obama, or at least will be asked to do so, and bought with more lies and promises that the Dems have no intention of fulfilling, while the Repugs will be doing everything in their power to strip us of our human and constitutional rights.

  2. Actually, the Republicans are trying to SAVE your sorry asses. And if you'd take a look at Wisconsin you'd see, for example, that now that the school districts and cities can decide to 'switch to Geico' as it were, they are, instead of in the red, they are millions in the black (is that raaaaaacist? I've lost track) - and school districts are able to hire new teachers as well as reduce class sizes. The City of Milwaukee is a real success story - far from stripping anyone of their Constitutional rights, they are working on balancing their budget and keeping the state solvent so that it CAN save jobs.

Too bad we don't have any hope of that here is CA, all of our companies are moving to Texas. Care to guess why? Any "progressive" ideas on how to reverse that trend?

  3. Rose, our companies must be moving to Texas to bring debt to that state. If they can't get any more out of California the will have to take it from somewhere. Why not a state run by a governor that thinks that spooks in the sky are speaking to him and that he is a prophet. Rick Perry has presided over the deaths of more people than any other governor in recent times. He has also built a sizeable deficit due to his lack of belief of taxes
