According To This Chart, Things Are Pretty Hot In Eureka

http://www.netc.com/
I got some information from a friend who said this:
Hi Thomas
I saw your recent blog update.
You might be interested in the attached data.
From the federal EPA website
It compares Eureka airborne radiation readings
from this week in 2010 vs 2013
(they blow air thru a filter and capture any hot particles,
generally report readings hourly)
that is, the attached graphs show readings pre fuku vs today
You can see, 3 yrs ago we ran around 14 cpm gross beta
Now we are running around 140 cpm (recently hit a high of
173 cpm)
That is, we are running 10 times more radioactive particles
in our air than pre Fuku.
Yes, things started particularly heating up around 12/25
and has been sustained hot like I have not seen before.
All this data coming straight from the Eureka EPA public radnet site.

  1. So what's the source of the radiation.

  2. Tom get with discuss its easier to post a comment with. More LoCo commenters would log on. Maybe that's not always a good thing.

    1. Thanks for the info. Strange days.

  4. Curious. Also the pic says a relatively astronomic high of 240, and 266 today (assuming 2014 copyright date in pic). Could the Japanese meltdown really be the cause? What of all the planes leaving overhead "chem/con" trails the last few years, very pronounced recent months? Are they leaving radiation damping chemicals? Are they radioactive particles like barium that is used to create precipitation, ala cloud seeding etc? Something is rotten in Denmark. Thanks for this info.

  5. I wish I had better information. For one, when should we be taking our Potassium Iodide tablets? Does anybody know the answer to that? The us government just ordered 14 million tablets of the stuff.

  6. Looking at the NETC map, I don't understand how the radiation stations in japan show normal levels while the US west coast is hot. Weather satelite imagery shows a very wide path of east to west travel as well. Is the Jetstream really so powerful vs. radiation to so effectively blow the radiation offshore and away from stations within a short days drive of the meltdown itself? I, too, wish I knew more, and hope we're not being kept in the dark of something bad potentially happening.

    1. http://radiationnetwork.com/ looks normal for the west, that is not any different than when I've paid attention off and on since the fuku meltdown, today being the first time I've checked the site in at least 8 months. I don't know what to think, ignorance be my bliss, haha.

  7. Radiationnetwork.com doesn't seem to have a test site in Eureka.

    1. It was there yesterday and now it is offline...very confusing!

  8. NetC.com where I got the map with the Eureka reporting is now showing no station reporting today. The LA Radcon 4 reading from last night that showed the same reading as Eureka has moved to Anaheim today and LA has moved to Radcon 2 status. I don't know why Eureka was taken off line.

  9. Yesterday was largely overcast for a portion of daytime with a myriad of "contrails" above the front. Simultaneously very hot on the charts you've presented. If you look into cloud seeding, they use slightly radioactive particles (esp barium) to initiate precipitation. If they're doing that above the west coast, and high altitude airplanes are obviously painting lines all over the sky from san diego to crescent city, then it could be having an effect on the radiation station readings, I would imagine. I'm no climatologist but the skies above humboldt are not normal. Keep us updated of signigicant changes!

  10. Thanks Anonymous 10:51 AM 01-02-14
That might explain the high levels in Fresno on this chart. When I rolled through that area on Monday the contrails were massive. Check this site for select California cities.
