I Get Phone Calls From Numbers That Don't Exist

On an almost daily routine, I get calls on my cell phone from numbers that don't exist. OK, they must have existed long enough for the people to call me but when I call them back, a minute or 2 later, I get the message that says "We're sorry, you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service. If you feel that you have reached this recording in error, please check the number and try your call again".

I know that these are just sales people that somehow got my number but I think that they are like anonymous posters. If they really wanted to talk to me or sell me something they would use a number that I could call back on or they would leave a message. They deserve to be treated as the harassing and annoying non people that they are. I went ahead and put my number into the do not call list but just for fun, I thought I would share some of these numbers so others could look out for them.

313-941-0619 these people called me yesterday and today with the same disconnected number. I called them back yesterday and the number was disconnected. Today they called me with that same number again and when I called them back, you guessed it. Disconnected again.

There were a couple of other numbers that were trying to sell me insurance. I didn't list them since they existed and I could actually call them back.

So if you haven't yet gone to the Do Not Call website and are getting calls from numbers that do not exist, go ahead and post them and then go to the Do Not Call website and stop this nonsense.

  1. The number is theirs. It's their machine with their recording.

  2. The majority are from other countries. Donotcall.gov doesn't help. I've made numerous complaints. My stepdad still gets daily calls as early as 6am for my mother. She died a year and a half ago. It's so frustrating!

  3. I've been getting an increase of these calls, one calling everyday at 8:30 and no one there on pick up. Got a call at 3:00 am one night from a Paki or Indian telemarketer who got an earful from me. These are HOME INVASIONS, folks. Corporations allowed to invade your home at their will and government does nothing to protect you as it sides with corporate greed ala taking control of the Internet. Our company if it ever happens, Biomystic Systems, plans to have a Biomystic Plan for all employees and customers and community that has its own Internet providing service that screens out ALL ADs on your browsing and protects your phone service against all unsolicited telemarketing home invasions. This is what we have to do now to protect individuals and communities from being constant Prey of corporations trying to extract the last dollar they can from your pocket book and bank account. Corporate capitalism has made us all Prey for constant corporate pick-pocketing.

  4. This could bring back the pager. Only give out the pager number to your boss or close family and friends and turn the cell phone off at night.

    1. What about incoming calls from numbers like plus +10123456689. And if you answer it's silence and then hangs up and then when you called that it doesn't exist? Have you ever heard of that?

  5. I keep my cellphone off all the time, anyway, but for my home phone I've found letting the answering machine answer calls solves 9 out 10 problems. Most of the time when they get an answering machine the telemarketers hang up. If I hear a legitimate caller, I stop the answering machine and pick up the phone.

Won't work for people that just can't help themselves but pick up the phone when it rings.

  6. The ringing of your phone by unsolicited telemarketers is home invasion. The waste of answering time is home invasion. The idea is to stop them at the start so they can't call. You can't shoot the telemarketers for home invasion with rock salt like some used to do with door-to-door salesmen selling you a bill of goods..

  11. program your cellphone so only numbers in your address book make your phone ring. if someone wants to call you, they will have to email you their name and number first, you add them to your address book, the next time they call, your phone will ring. yes, you will miss a few important calls, but you will have no more of the headaches.

  12. Today I got a text from someone in the next town that asked who I was? I asked the same and they said I called them an hour ago. I looked at my log and my phone said otherwise. The wan no call made by me or my obnoxious Android phone to that number. They sent me a screen shot of the log on their end. My phone called theirs but
    it didn't.

  13. The national do not call register is a toothless tiger that offers only the suggestion to call your phone company to arrange to block unwanted and annoying calls. I have a much better suggestion: Don't waste your time with registering on the DNC national registry. Instead just block the caller on your cell phone and add it under "Telemarketers" or "Annoying Calls"

  14. I have received three calls back to back today from 618-111-8220. I let it ring until the call is missed and they immediately call back before I can set the phone down.It shows it's a Illinois number, which is where I am from, but when I search to see who it is, the number doesn't come up anywhere in any databases. No messages or anything.

  15. This started happening to me about one week ago. I've stopped answering any local number that I don't recognize. When I confirm it's one of these spoofed numbers, I add it to my reject list. This is ridiculous. We can't even live in peace. Here's the funny thing though, the numbers originate from the old area code I used to live in which is different from the area code of my phone number. I now reside in an area that has an entirely different area code than either of those. Very interesting...

  16. I get on the average of 4 to 6 of these calls a day. TV shows who is calling. It always says I'd not available, but shows phone number. I no longer answer them even if it's my area code

  21. It never stops. Some of them hang up the minute you answer and you can't call them back.

  22. Here is another one that is only a call out to harass you number.
310-734-6706 ignore these people. They don't want to talk. They just hang up on me.

  23. There is no protection from the low-life scum-baggie callers who are not talented enough to earn a legit living. They all hover in a 'call center' cave somewhere and would rather hide behind their annoying cell/landline calls than have any real talent or reason to call. DO NOT ANSWER OR CALL BACK ANY OF THESE CLOWNS IF THEY DON'T LEAV A VM. AND EVEN THEN, BEWARE!!! They wait for you to answer the phone or call back their ID number to prove you are "Live Bait" for the next samer to call (your attempt to respond or call back gives these scum a chance to 'sell' your number to the next gaggle of sub-humans who will call you again and again,
