Oysters, Oysters Everywhere and Pleanty to Drink

Master of Oyster Ceremonies, Dave Silverbrand oversaw the oyster calling contest.

The Steve Watts Band played as people gobbled up the recently unshelled creatures.

Beer and Oysters were bountiful on the Arcata Plaza today during Arcata Main Street's 19th Annual Oyster Festival. You could get them grilled, on the barbie or breaded and deep fried.
I read somewhere that over 100-thousand oysters would be consumed at the festival today.

It all goes till 5:30 pm today followed by baseball 1 block away at the Arcata Ball Park with the Humboldt Crabs.

Tomorrow it's north to Trinidad for the Fish Festival. That starts at 11am and goes till 4pm. I'm going to try to blog from the event at the Beachcomber Cafe next to Town Hall.
This is the best time of the year to be in Humboldt County California!
