Eureka Holiday Blood Drive

Holiday Blood Drive

City Ambulance of Eureka, Humboldt Fire District #1 and the Eureka Fire Department will be conducting their 1st annual Emergency Services Holiday Blood Drive.

This is a perfect opportunity to contribute to our community by giving the gift of life during the holiday season.

The three agencies will be engaged in a friendly competition. The agency with the most blood donated in their name will take home the coveted "Celebration Cup" and the bragging rights that come with it. The agency's name will be engraved on the cup and it will be proudly displayed in their trophy case until next year's drive.

The public is encouraged to come out and support our community and your local emergency services agencies.

Dates and locations of the drives are:

Tuesday, December 14th 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM Denny's Parking lot, 6th / “C” Eureka.

Friday, December 17th 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM Grocery Outlet, 625 Commercial Eureka

Saturday, December 18th 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Humboldt Fire District Station 11
across from Redwood Acres

You can donate blood in the name of the agency of your choice at any of these locations. When making a donation, let the blood bank staff know which agency you are supporting.

Every day over 60 local blood donations are needed to meet the needs of hospitals served by the Northern California Community Blood Bank. Blood donations are used for the treatment of injuries, burns, surgeries, and illnesses such as cancer.

“It doesn’t really matter who wins the competition”, said Matt Dennis, blood drive coordinator, City Ambulance employee and Humboldt Fire District Firefighter, “we all win with every donation.”

Giving blood is a fast, free and easy way to help our community when they need it the most.
