New Law Requires Calorie Count On California Fast Food Menus

A Law that goes into effect on New Years day requires fast food restaurants in California to post calorie counts on their menus.

Subway in Eureka had already posted calories on some items today with the new menus ready to go up tonight. (I actually took a picture of the Subway menu but won't let me post it now, I'll try again later)

Will this change the way we eat? I think so. It won't make us all thin but when faced with a 450 calorie item verses a 12-hundred calorie item, most people that can read will think twice now about what they are ordering. Of course, people that really care about what they eat don't eat fast food much if at all. Still, with a little knowledge, I think a lot of people will change some of their regular menu choices.

Here is more from the La Times
