The Humboldt Bay Maritime Museum is excited to announce that their historic vessel
MADAKET will operate from her former home dock and ticket office at the Foot of C Street in
Eureka beginning May 13, 2011. A greeting ceremony will take place at the Foot of C Street on
Friday beginning at 11:30 a.m. Speakers from the City of Eureka and Maritime Museum will be
present and the first cruise of the 2011 season will depart at 1:00 p.m.

The Motor Vessel MADAKET, which operated from the Foot of C Street since 1972, had been
relocated to alternate docks along Eureka’s waterfront while the City of Eureka developed the
Eureka boardwalk. Now nearing final phases of completion of the Fishermen’s Terminal
building and C Street Market Square at the Foot of C Street, MADAKET will be able to come
home once again.

The City of Eureka and Maritime Museum would like to invite the citizens of the Humboldt Bay
area to join us this Friday at 11:30 and welcome MADAKET home. The new “C” Street dock
will provide the MADAKET with a ticket office that will be open daily during the MADAKET
cruise season.
