A Challenge To Eureka Police Chief Harpham

From his facebook Mark Sailors said:
Yesterday on KMUD police Chief Harpham claimed no batons were used during the raid on the Occupy Eureka protesters, and claimed he would pay 1000 dollars out of his own pocket for proof. The video footage I submitted to KIEM news clearly shows police using a baton on a protester, and the accompanying still photo clearly show the Chief standing over the scene.
The supposed incident takes place in the first minute of the video.  The larger the screen, the easier it is to see. Watch for yourself at the link below.

Mark Sailors told me on the radio that he doesn't like being called a liar, and who does?  I think Mr. Sailors is correct about the video, what do you think?  Does Chief Harpham owe Mark 1,000 dollars?

  1. To me the issue is, he basically said i was lying to the entire community on the air. As a martial arts instructor, journalist, and politician I hold myself to an ethical standard that is above reproach.

    I do not lie.

    Ever.

I want parents to ALLOW me the privilege of teaching their kids honor, discipline, respect, and HONESTY. How can I expect a parent to trust me when a local police chief is calling me a liar? To me that is unacceptable.

Also, didn’t Eureka just loose 4.5 million for not giving medical attention to a suspect? Well listen to the claim, if the person was hit 6 times in the legs, he needed to see a doctor. The suspect could have died from a pulmonary embolism, the same thing you can get from sitting for to long on a plane. Basically a blood clot goes to your heart or lung and you die.
